The History of Waterford Crystal Chandeliers Appearing

SHigh standard quality and precision in uniformity is attained to satisfy clients' taste.

This brand of crystal chandeliers is already an institution in the market with its long history of trials and success in the business of chandeliers. Despite of its rise and fall in the open market with varied reasons to speak of, Waterford has continuously survived and regained its name in history with impeccable performance in chandelier business.

The Beginnings of Waterford Chandeliers:

Waterford Company was organized in 1783 at Waterford, Ireland by 2 brothers namely, William and George Penrose. Having a wide vision for business, they saw a big opportunity in producing ornamental and plain glass after seeing the big demand for them in the world market. However, since anyone of them didn't have any working experience on glass, they had to hire the services of an expert glass worker, John Hill.

Business became successful and as the head of factory workers, John Hill capitalized on his long years of expertise to produce high-quality glass products that were never found in the country. Shipments of flint glass were soon leaving the Waterford port on their way to Spain, North America and the West Indies.

The Rise and Fall of Waterford Company:

During the 19th century, the factory was sold to 3 local partners who were interested to buy the business with its ongoing profitability. The new management eventually decided to establish a retail outlet located at the city's harbor to supply affordable glassware to the public. However after 50 years, after some serious reasons including the imposition of heavy taxes by the British government on glassware products, the company ceased its business operations.

At the end of World War II, a small glass factory was again created employing immigrant workers from Europe. The venture became successful that shortly, the business location was transferred to its present site of 40 acres.

The Excellent Performance of Waterford Crystal:

The excellence achieved by the company in making Waterford crystal chandeliers can be attributed to their highly-trained skilled workers. High standard quality and precision in uniformity is attained by inflating the pieces of molten crystal with exact amount of air. When the stage of molding is completed, cooling process is done to each item in a very slow manner inside an annealing oven designed specifically to eliminate any possible damage.

After the cooling process, all glass pieces are then subject to flutes hand-cut and corresponding facets. It takes 5 years to finish the Waterford crystal chandeliers' apprenticeship program for cutters before they become expert cutters.
